Titans season starts

Titans finally get onto the field to play sopme football and come away with a win. The game started well for the Titans with Pacman Jones returning the openning Kickoff some 70+ yards to setup the Titans offense on the 15 yard line of the Cardinals. 3 plays later Brown was catching first of this 9 catches for the day for a TD down the middle.

The Cardinals answered back with the ensuing driving going for a nice length of the field drive. The Cardinals skipped to a 21-7 lead with 2mins to go in the first half but 2 INT's by Warner saw the Titans capitalise with short fields and level the score 21 all at the break.

The 2nd half saw defense get a hold of what their opposite offiense were doing and slowed the scoring. Titans hit a 10 point lead but that was cut to 3 points with a Bolidn TD.

Cardinals got the ball back with 2mins to go and drove fast down to the Titans 20 yards line with still 1:20 on the clock but a Rick fumble saw the dea lsealed for the Titans and advance to a 1-0 record in games played this season :)

Ravens Turn Season Around

Since starting 1-2 under previous owner the Ravens have now gone 3-0 for a Division best 4-2 record, quickly climbing up the Power Rankings. The Ravens don't plan on slowing down 1 bit.

This past week the Ravens beat the Bears 55-0, someone musta brought a goat into Soldier Field and cursed the Bears like the Cubs, who can't win a series with thier own fans catching HR balls, this was like. The Bears couldn't catch a break, throwing 5 INT's and 20/29 rushing with Jones.

Bears owner took the loss with pure class! not 1 bitch, not 1 whine...he kept playing because the Bears love to play Football, pure kudos to the Bears new owner, everyone has a bad day...but it's how you respond to that bad day that makes or breaks you as a good owner!

Ravens on a monster surge, the rest of the DBNFL better start scouting, cause this machine with one motivated BUS has no plans on slowing down!

Battle for 1st place in the NFC North

Week 7 pits the 3-2 Green Bay Packers against the 4-1 Minnesota Vikings. Green Bay beat the Vikings last season in the same situation in Minnesota, 37-24. This is a pivotal game as the winner would take sole possesion of first place in the NFC North since both teams are 1-0 against Division Teams...

We've all wondered about it. The phone rings and rings, aimlessly pacing around the room wondering, "Where's the Coach!!". Gameday. Everyone is dressed out, 5 minutes before kickoff. The home team nervously paces the sidelines wondering where the hell their coach is. The assistant coach calls, but there is no answer. The coach, is... a no show.

TarterBump, a declared Narcaleptic, understands the burden of being a historically great coach, and the burden of dropping over in a dead sleep at the drop of a hat. "Hey, you know..it's like when I'm in a game, and the running backs and quarterbacks are running all over the field..and I'm yelling at my Linebackers, "BREAK HIS FUCKIN' KNEES!! BREAK THEM!" And then, nothing happens. I'm standing there on the sidelines, screaming my heart out, but nothin'. It's like that. You want it, but it's not happening. I still have no recollection of either the Buffalo or Green Bay games."

While the team understands the dilemna, they all agree..the coach produces, and his team backs him. New Orleans marquee running back, Deuce Mcallister, had this comment: "Hey, the man may be a walking bottle of NYQUIL, but we respect him. That's what matters.

Terrible Start....

Life's been tough in the Titans camp with a tragic loss of its founding owner; the club was at a stand still. The team is going with hand dealt with (especially in the roster side) and is aiming to make the most from a bad start to this season.

Apologies to the league in our absence. (And the Titans, who rely on email notifications from the forum, has got that all fixed too now, I think)

Rams Complete Comeback And Defeat Giants in Overtime

The St. Louis Rams found themselves trailing 21-7 about midway through the 3rd quarter. Coach Country would challenge his team to shut down the repetitive passing plays to Burress and Shockey. And that they pretty much did, by double teaming both Burress and Shockey almost EVERY play. Offensively the Rams didnt change a thing. We knew we could run the ball against the Giants zone coverage.

The Rams would close the gap to 21-17 towards the end of the 3rd quarter after Marc Bulger found Torry Holt on a seam pattern for a 76 yard touchdown.

St. Louis would take a 31-24 lead with under 30 seconds left. But Eli Manning found Burress on the same seam lob pass we had been been seeing all game for a long touchdown with 11 seconds left in the game. Burress made a nice manual jumping catch then broke a tackle to go the rest of the way to tie the score up at 31. The Rams would complete a pass but ran out of time to end the game tied 31-31 at the end of regulation.

VIKINGS LOOK TO WEEK 2

Well one person said before that the DBNFL Regular Season is not a race, but rather a marathon...

After a embarassing week 1 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Vikings look to bounce back in week 2 as they head to Cincinnati to play the Bengals. Minnesota looks to get revenge on the Bengals after a 35-28 loss last season in Minnesota. Vikings HB Michael Bennett was held to just 14 rushing yards in that game, while Bengals HB Rudi Johnson ran all over the Vikings secondary, gaining 170 yards on the ground and 47 yards through the air...

Week 1 Game Recap - Buccaneers at Vikings

Bucs @ Vikings

1st Quarter
Bucs win the coin toss, they choose to return the ball. The return goes to the 30-yard line and Chris Simms and co. is now in the spotlight. The first 2 plays Cadillac runs for loss of yards, althrough the game Bucs were dominant on 3rd downs. Simms to Clayton = 1st down, Simms takes the drive 70 yards downfield and hits Clayton with a 56-yard TD pass for the score. 7-0

Bennett was the main figure for Vikings offense, but Culpepper and co. can not finish the job completely, and they only end up with a FG by Edinger (too bad they haven't implanted his corkscrew feature). 7-3

2nd Quarter
The Bucs seemed to play a gear lower than the Vikings did in 2nd quarter. Vikings move the ball but does not finish the job again - they get two FG's, 7-9.
But then words of encouragement from Jon Gruden and his tight T-shirts made the Bucs wake up. Who other than Chris Simms leads them to a TD, he hits Alstott for a 15-yard pass. But Tampa misses the XP; 13-9.
Now Tampa is awakened and the defense is awakened (Total of 6 turnovers), Tampa stops the Vikings offense and Alstott takes it to the house little by little with his short runs, 20-9.
